Get To Know Me

My name is Paige Abuharoon and I am an Ojibwe mother of 2 who belongs to Alderville First Nations. My identity is deeply connected to my heritage and culture. My indigeneity is not just a label for me; it represents a rich tapestry of history, tradition, and community that shapes who I am.
My identity means embracing my roots, celebrating the resilience of my ancestors, and understanding the importance of passing down our values and stories to our future generations. It has impacted my life in profound ways, including strengthening my sense of purpose.
The work I engage in is vital for Indigenous Peoples as it fosters awareness, promotes cultural preservation, and advocates for our rights and representation. In a world where Indigenous voices have historically been marginalized, my mission is to uplift our narratives and ensure that our contributions to society are recognized and valued. By working in these spaces, I strive not only to honor my heritage but also to empower others within my community.
